To open up the backs of the baffle I used what I call "an electric rasp" ... it's basically a fine pointed band sander:

) 2" thick on the back, and approximately 1" on the sides. I ripped and cut the fiberglass in half to get the 1" (which is why its bigger and smaller in some places)
