    unfortunate chain of events

From one recently very unhappy Rotel owner...

2-3 months ago I reported that after hooking up the RDV1060 with my RSX1055 with a trigger cable, my RSX1055 started acting funny: basically it becomes unusable after it's turned off and then back on. The Rotel technician has no clue what it is and told me to reset the receiver to factory settings. :wtf: Or if I decide to send it in it will cost me $150 for them to just look at it.

3 weeks ago the RDV1060 started making quite a lot of noise when playing DVDs. Not necessarily when I start the DVD, but after watching more than 50% of the movie. The screen even freezes for a fraction of a second and then proceeds as if normal, but with the noise. And yes, the DVDs are clean. :bash:

Last week my Optoma pj said goodbye forever. :sh:

And yesterday I found that the scart of my RDV1060 doesn't work properly after hooking it up to a standard Sony TV. I can hear all the background sound, but no voice. And yes, I tried different cables and different DVDs to no avail and the TV's scart works fine with my Xbox.

I still believe that connecting both units with the trigger cable started that mess. :demon:

I am not sure what is going on with most of this but the slight freeze half way through the movie is the layer change of the disc and depending on how the disc was formatted it can be longer with some movies than others. This is quite normal though.

Still if the noise only starts after a layer change then something is wrong. Is the 1060 not under warranty still?

Need help on problem with RDV1060 and RSP1098
          by Marcel54
I have my configuration since October last year and from the start I have a problem with my RDV1060 and RSP1098 that if correct all users of the SCART connection should have. If the RDV1060 is connected to my TV through the SCART connection and the DVD-player is set on SCART then the TFT on the 1098...

Problem with RDV 1060 and SCART
          by Marcel54
I have a complete Rotel set up (RSP1098, RDV1060, RB1080 and RMB1095) and I'm almost completely happy. But I do have a problem. Due to my TV I'm using the SCART connection from my DVD to my TV and there lies the problem. If my DVD is set to SCART my TFT from my RSP1098 is only monochrome (so no colours...

          Connectingproblem RSP1098 and RDV1060
          by Marcel54
I bought a new DLP TV so I connected my 1060 with component directly to my HD TV set (previously I used SCART). My 1060 is connected to the 1098 with composite for use of the TFT screen. Here's the problem: when I set my 1060 to progressive scan my TFT screen goes haywire (all I see is horizontal disturbance)....

          progressive on RDV1060
          by sirbogey
My RDV1060 came back from Rotel with an exchanged tray. When I put in a DVD or CD, it takes like 10 secs for the disc to load. This was a matter of 2-3 secs before. What have they done to it?

Another question: I changed the picture to watch a movie in progressive mode. When I do that,...

          RDV1060 Problem
          by Armbender
I have had this DVD player for almost a year with it working perfectly. No when I play DVD's it makes A LOT of spinning noises when loading the DVD. Also when it jumps through the chapters and the begining it creates a load spinning noise. Almost as if the DVD is spinning out of control on the loading...
