I am new to DIY, after extensive search, I have decided to go for Swope MTM. This is my first build on proven designs. Main reason to decide on this design is because of the parts availability in India. I have collected all major design info's from multiple threads....
New 5.1 setup build - Creativesound V1, V2 and V2 ML-TL
Currently developing a set of 5.1 speakers after being out of the game for quite a while. I am using the creativesound.ca kits. The plan is to use a V2 (MTM) for center, V2 ML TL (vertical MTM, transmission line tower) and V1 (MT, ported 2-way bookshelf).
Hey all, just posting my long (can someone say 6 weeks?) build from cutting the MDF to the glueing, flush trim bitting, jasper jigging, veneering, cutting, jigging again, filing, sanding, sanding again, staining, aaand finally putting the XOs together and screwing the whole thing all together!! ...
I'm getting ready to start building two sets of Ochocinco's.
I'm going to be building my Ocho's different than the original design. Because of that, I thought that I would try and do something that I've never really done in the past, document what I'm doing, and try and be diligent about...
I had planned to build a friend a pair of MTM's last year and the AviaTrix fit the bill. So I ordered up the components, bought the Padauk for the bafles, and of course months went by. Well he confirmed his re-location so I pushed and got them built, because I kind of had too . Since I had additional...
Crazy idea time. I'm stealing this from a post at the PE Forum by Spasticteapot. He wondered about using steel tube for enclosures. I'm not sure if he did anything with it, because he had problems getting tube steel. I'm a structural engineer - I don't have problems getting tube steel. So, today I picked...
Here is a short thread of my noobster build. A great thanks to augerpro for the work involved in designing them. I ordered the parts from PE for the MTM with the tweets on back order until mid December. The total BOM with one sheet of MDF totaled to $300 for the pair.

I would have thought someone else would have done this by now--maybe my internet searching abilities are very lacking. Anyways, I just ordered 4 4-ohm RS100s and 2 ND20FAs. Should arrive on Wednesday, maybe by the end of the week I will get a chance to do some testing. I recently moved to chicagoland...
I searched around and didn't find a definite answer to my question so I will pose it before the experts who can answer it easily. I am copying an MTM design which I like but modifying the enclosure from a standard rectalinear box to cylindrical. I understand that the baffle size and shape must stay...
Completed project: The Microliths - a small RS125 / RS28 MTM speaker.
The idea:
It all started when a friend asked me for a small minimonitor for his home. I initially thought of an RS28 / RS125 speaker. After running a couple of sims, it was obvious this was not going to work, since a single RS125 could not handle too much load. The speaker grew, as my friend's...
Why wouldn't a ribbon based MTM be ideal for home theater
been reading a number of posts and was curious why an MTM using a ribbon like a raven would not be ideal for home theater? the downside to the ribbons is their lack of vertical dispersion but that is a big plus for home theater.
Well, due to overwhelming popular demand, there's a new series of MTM's in the works here at Mission Possible. This will comprise some "conventional" MTM's and some with driver and construction to optimize for center channel duties, which isn't all that easy becuase of the typical dispersion...
