    sub crossover problems

I have a Denon 3805, B&W 805S's and a Velodyne DD-12. I was just testing the frequency response using a tone generator in my computer, and I was starting to notice that my main speakers are attempting to play frequencies far below the crossover point. In other words, when I was playing 15 hz, the drivers of my B&W's were moving at a furious 15 hz trying to keep up with my sub. Shouldn't the crossover make it so all the stuff below 80hz goes to the sub and so on? I know there's a little bleed over to make the transition smooth but I wouldn't think stuff that low would fall inside of that. Anyone have suggestions?

By the way, the sub is just hooked up to the sub preout on the receiver and the front speakers are hooked up normally.

Are your main speakers set to 'small' and your sub/lfe set to 'sub' only?

Does everyone set their mains to "small"? How big would your speaker have to be before you set it to "large"?. If Kylek100 had is speaker setting on "large", how would that affect the sound. Also, what other option would he have on the sub setting besides setting it to "sub".

          RSP-1066 and sub crossover point
          by terry78
I purchased a RSP-1066, RMB-1075, and RDV-1080 in December and have been trying different settings with my Paradigm speakers. My dealer told me to use the 1066's 80 Hz sub crossover point and set the sub's internal crossover to 150 Hz (i.e., its max position). My sub is a Paradigm PW-2200. After a month...

building active speakers with sub: how to do sub crossover?
          by neb001
I plan on building a set of Zaph's B3S speakers, with integrated amp (exact model TBD, most likely a 41hz.com amp), and a sub consisting of a Tang Band W5-1138SM paired with a Dayton 70W amp. My friend that I plan on giving this to mostly uses their (completely underwhelming) current speakers for their...

          BBV2: a small format sub/sat system

FINALLY got my BoseBuster sequel done and written up!! I've shortened the name to BBV2 so I don't get any hassle from Bose. Next I'll be finishing the Scan Disco TM and MTM, the other flavors after. My Soma Sonus site is now hosting my projects. Here is copy of that page:
