You have to take a look behind the cabinets - its a complete mess.

In all honesty some wires are visible but they dont seem to be showing up in the pictures !!

John - sounding fantastic although I have only had them on for a few hours so far. Mainly playing stereo at the moment - havent used the sub much apart from when I watched a film for half an hour.

I have been runnning them all day at a reasonable volume to let them ease in - CD in PLII mode so that all three front speakers and the sub get used and hence run in. I am going to keep it running all weekend (lowered volume past bedtime!).

One thing I have noticed - you give them a so so to poor recording and the 803D's sound absolutely shocking - much worse than my 804's ever did. But give them something of reasonable to good quality and they sound just lovely. They reveal the crap just as much as the good stuff. Totally unforgiving.

I also feel my Arcam DVD player is a limiting factor here in terms of the quality of the sound I am getting. Dont get me wrong the overall sound very very good (hugely better than my old 804's) but they are a lot better CD players out there. I have to give some others a try...

                Hi rags,

I auditoned the 803D's last weekend being fed by some Mcintosh mono blocks and the bass was phenonemal!

                ..........you are lucky lucky lucky.

                    Hey Rags

I also have the 803D's and love 'em. Was wondering if you have your HTM2D yet... wife vetoed me on that said it was "excessive" and "too big". But she is going to be on holiday for a little while without me so it may be time to strike!!!

Let me know how you get on also - I have the Arcam DV88+ and am looking into a FMJ DV29 instead ... what player are u using ? I have teh feeling the 88+ is a little shy in terms of CD performance.

                    Rgds Steve.

Steve - my centre speaker should be here soon. Ill take some more pics and post them on the sticky when I get it.

I am currently using an Arcam DV79. I discounted the DV29 as per Arcam the picture via HDMI is identical to the DV79. CD performance s obviously better on the DV29.

I am seriously thinking about going the whole hog and buying a Meridian G98 or G91 as it offer superb CD playback, scales and outputs and all video inputs (component, composite etc) via its HDMI out and when combined with a G68 processor together they upsample all source software. Probably makes the tea as well !

It certainly does offer excellent CD playback but i listened to the Meridian 808 Signature CD Player today and WOW but at £8.2K it should!!

Rags And Stevebez I also just received my 803D's, I went with the HTM3S and find that it works well with the D's. I know that the HTM2D is recommended but I couldn't justify that much for a center speaker when I have so many other things to buy.

I have just finished setting them up and listening for the past 3 hours and I think they sound better in my room than at the dealers. I had N804's and really liked them but made the mistake of demoing the 803D's and made the trade upwards.

I have read where others have said that the bass isn't great but I have stopped using my sub when I am listening to 2 channel and feel that the bass is more than adequate.

Congratulations on your purchases and thanks for the feedback which helped me make up my mind to go for the 803D's.

I picked up a couple Aurasound NS10-513's to replace the original dual 8's.

                            Review of my new 803Ds
                            by bigburner
Two weeks ago I became an 803D owner.

I can only compare the new 803Ds to the CDM9NTs that they replaced as the combination of my listening room and my gear is one of a kind (as they all are).

The tweeter in the 803D is a big improvement over the CDM9NT, which was too bright...

                            Hi everyone,

I'm a long time lurker but have finally taken the next step and registered, partly motivated by my brand new pair of 803Ds which have arrived at my dealer, to be picked up tomorrow morning and I'm excited as heck!

A little history: new to forum, but no stranger...

Tuesday a week and a half ago, my 802Di were finally delivered! (I had them on order since November)

As for my impressions in the last week and a half, I am extremely satisfied with them.

The 802Di displaced a pair of 803D in a 5.1 setup. In comparing the 802Di to the...

Last week B&W delivered a brand new pair of 803 Diamond speakers to my house. I haven’t listened to them yet. I haven’t even taken them out of their boxes, and I probably won’t do so for many months.

The new Diamonds are replacements for my 803D speakers which took a tumble...
