Amp? Do you really mean an amp or do you need a receiver?

Emotiva XPA-2. I've heard a few Rotel amps and I know a lot of people like them...but for the money I was just not that impressed? I'll probably get flamed for this

:B Thats what I was expecting though Honestly to each their own thats just my point of view though. Another excellent amp I like are ATI amps. I'm not sure they fit in your budget though. They aren't super expensive but wouldn't leave much room for a 5.1 receiver.

30 day money back guarantee and they give you free shipping to you I believe? So not much of a risk. Several people I talk to occasionally have tried them and love them.

Call me slow but you're referring to Emotiva's products correct? I'm really interested in their LPA-1 amp. It looks great, seems like it would perform, and is a great price. Have you or anyone you know had personal experience with this amp?

                          Thanks,

the rotel rmb-1075 has better internal components then the emotiva epa-5 has. i got a chance to compare a the 1075/epa-5 at a friends for ht. what a difference in head room and overall sound the 1075 had over the emotiva. the reserves in power the 1075 bar far surpass the emotiva. for the money, i would find a used 1075.

Well for almost 3x the cost I would hope so. The LPA-1 is a value amp at $500. Try the XPA-5 if you want to make a truer comparison. Tons of power, great build, and still nearly half the cost of the Rotel.

Currently, I use a Denon 4308 with a MC207 until my AVP-A1HDCI arrives, but you could use a 3808 for your price range...it has been really well received. A friend of mine has one and he loves it.

Before the MC207 I ran the 4308 on it’s own steam with my B&W 703, HTM7 and DS7s and it was really good.

With the Denon 3808 you may be able to drive the 705s in direct mode and in another zone, depending on your setup.

                                  Cheers,

Yeah one of the new Denon AVR's would do. You could then use a 2 channel power amplifier for stereo if you really wanted, Rotel, Musical Fidelity?
