    JL Audio Fathom

I would like to know how to properly calibrate the JL Audio Fathom F113, I have followed the instructions from the manual but was wondering if there are other tweaks I can do

If you have experimented with positioning and followed the setup/eq instructions successfully, not much. The only limitation of the f113 is the single parametric filter. If that's all you need, fine. If you need more, it ain't got it. The best suggestion would be to use a measurement/analysis program to see what it is doing.

Is it worth it to have an acoustics engineer optimize the system! I am still waiting to see how good is the SSP-800 before upgrading my pre/pro?

Dunno. How happy/unhappy are you? How would you characterize the issues you are dealing with? What are your room acoustics issues?

Start there. Do you have any way to assess the room/system acoustics other than with your ears?

You could try the Room EQ Wizard.

I'm considering doing this but my laptop doesn't have the right connector. Therefore, I need to pull my server out of the office and use it since it has a better audio card.

Yes, I use the Room EQ Wizard with a BFD to EQ out bass. Good stuff.

                    Hi!

How do you connect your sub JL Fathom F113 and your SSP-800? XLR (balanced) vs RCA unbalanced? I have only one sub and I don't have the space to put it in the front beside the 802d, can I put it in the back corner and the automatic calibration will correct everything?

Has anyone yet paired the JLAudio Fathom Sub F112 or F113 with the 802Ds? I am very curious as to how well they integrate. I have read great things about the subs but have not had the chance of hearing them myself. I know, I should trust my ears and go have a listen but living here in middle earth...

                    by ian1975
                    Hello to all,

I was at my local dealer yesterday for the annual sale. I said to him about upgrading my system. I'm looking for one system that does very well in stereo music and 5.1 HT as well. I listened to the Sonus Faber Amati speakers, they were very musical, and I liked them a lot....
