1098 owner Good news Bad news

Good news I got my 1098 at the weekend and have set it all up and for the first few hours it was great !

Bad news , after a few hours use it seems to have developed a fault in that the centre channel/speaker keeps switching from really quite ie no voices to its proper setting ie voices, haveing explored further even with test tone this appears to be happening so it none of the sources.

I've checked all the connections so its not that, I've tried both centre outputs and the results are same. When the unit was shipped it was 2.1.1 firmware so i upgraded to 2.1.2 and everything appeared to go ok with check sums being the same.

So is it a fault with the processor ? any ideas ?

    thanks

Have you tried resetting the 1098 back to factory defaults and re-evalauting again?

Before accusing the 1098 i will try the following: connect the center out of the 1098 at the front (r or l) IN of the amplifier and try again. It may be a faulty channel on the amplifier.

Shootout : Parasound C2 vs Rotel 1098 (long)
        by DrBoom
Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...

Got my new 804S, that's the bad news!
        by tboooe
As some of you know, I have been waiting to receive my new 804S speakers. After 2 weeks they finally came. Unfortunately, that is also the bad news. Right away I noticed the boxes were in pretty bad shape! One of the speakers had substantial cosmetic damage behind the speaker grill. It looks like...

1098 Wish List and Need for a 1099!!!
        by Aussie Geoff
        Hi,

In researching “wish list” requests for the 1098 I’ve started to develop a sense of what can be realistically added to the 1098 as is and what would require a major hardware upgrade. I thought this worth sharing, since it will provide a context for the next version of the 1098

RSP-1098 Firmware updates - any new news?
        by kneptune
Anyone aware of any new news on a pending firmware/feature update for the 1098?

There have been rumblings for months that a significant update is about to be released, but yet nothing, other than the recent v2.1.3 which only added a couple of small changes.

        I'm hoping...

DSP 1098 - looses all settings after power cut
        by cnaltaylor
        Hi,
        I have a DSP-1098, what a wonderful piece of gear !

I do have an issue and I am interested to hear if anyone else has suffered this problem.
We had a power cut recently and my 1098 lost all the personal settings and resorted back to the factory defaults.
        I have...
