    RSP 1069 With Niles MSU250

    Hi Everyone,

I have an RSP 1069 and a Niles MSU250 that have been working well together for a few years. I recently started a project to clean up my cabling and wanted to know if I could replace the Niles micro flasher that sits in front of the 1069's IR sensor and use a standard 3.5mm cable from the MSU250 to the IR input of the 1069. I didn't want to experiment because I wasn't sure if I would damage the equipment.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, but if I remember right, plugging a cable into the back will disable the front IR input..

Perfect! I replaced the IR flasher for the 1069 and the 1072 with a 3.5mm cable and all seems to be going well and a bit faster in response with the remote. I 'm not sure why my other sources, such as satellite or blu-ray don't have a IR input. It would make a much cleaner look, IMHO. Thanks!

It's also perfectly acceptable to break open cases and stick the flashers behind the front plate. Of course Directv or Dish might not like that on leased equipment..

RSP 1069 vs. RSP 1570 What Is Gained?
          by Ted
I am currently using my RSX-1057 as a Pre to my RMB-1075. I currently use a PS3 as my Blu-Ray player, but after I have a dedicated Pre/Pro that I can use HDMI for both audio and video I'll get a dedicated Blu-Ray player too.

What I'd like to know is, what do I gain in practical terms...

          RSP 1069 and "5.1" Flag
          by jyj
Hi Everyone - I've been a longtime lurker and now a first time poster. I've had the RSP 1069 for over a year and have noticed the "5.1" icon on the florescent panel never illumnates. However the "Dolby Digital" message is displayed when a program is broadcast with the DD content...

          RSP-1069 and HDMI Bass Management

I believe this question has already been answered in another thread related to the RSP-1069, but I just wanted to clarify it directly for my own decision-making purposes…

Can anyone verify with certainty that the RSP-1069 applies bass management (crossover, distance, and level) settings...
