    RMB-985 Right Channel Problem

I have a Rotel RMB-985 multi-channel amp that I'm using as a secondary amp in a different room. All channel's work except for the right channel which doesn't produce a signal. I'm using it with a Rotel RSP-1069.

I've been able to work around the problem by using the right surround channel to produce a signal through the RSP-1069's right front channel.

Any ideas what is causing this problem. I've checked the fuses in the 985 and can only find the four fuses on each side of the front that I believe support each of the four power supply units on each side of the front. I've not been able to find the fuses for each of the channels.

The protection lights for each channel operate normally. That is, they light when the amp is turned on and then slowly go out.

That's really odd??. I assume you have checked all wires and connections and source feeds?. Most Rotel products allow you to set speaker levels via the speaker setup area of the menu via the remote using test tones and a SPL meter.

      Rotel 985 amp

I've double checked everything. I used the right surround channel as a work around and everything was great!

I just thought of something regarding 2 channel critical music-listening only. Don't know why I didn't think of it before.

I have 2 Krell KAV amps. One 3 channel & one 2 channel. Each amp has a 2000VA power supply. At the mo' I have LF, centre & RF on one amp & SL & SR...

        RMB-1095 channel dead
        by Ray F.
The right front channel on my Rotel RMB-1095 amplifier stopped working about a week ago. I thought I had noticed an electrical component burning smell the day before, but could not locate the source. When I took the cover off, I found a big pile of cat hair inside. I suspect this caused an electrical...

I bought an Adcom GFA-545 about a month or so ago and have been using it to power my 100 Watt DVC 12" Realistic Ported Sub. I bought the amp for a Sonosub project that has been put on hold until my 12" Shiva shows up.

Yesterday, 2 Aura Bass Shakers showed up and I finally got...

Hey guys, so this has happened in the past. ( I drop an RCA cable and it falls on the positive/negative speaker terminals, I curse myself and then replace the fuse kinda thing) This time though, no such easy resolution. I come back from vacation just 2 days ago. The power had gone out a few days earlier,...
