    RSX 1055 "Popping Sound" Issue

Hi all - I'm new to this and sure could use some 'expert' help with an issue with my Rotel RSX 1055. When I turn on the receiver, a loud popping sound comes through the speakers. Afterwards, there is no volume heard only a very slight hum. Any ideas?? Thanks!

I have a similar problem but slightly different. I can hear popping sound when it is turn on, but it still has sound. And the popping sound is intermittent. I took it for a service center, that guy said some welding or wiring is loose. That guy charge me $200.

Also poping into speakers when you turn on could be an electrical problem in your hardline, ground loop...

          Hi all,

I own RSX-1055 and RDV-1060. I have had them for 5+ years now. Both have been consistently unreliable. RSX-1055 broke a couple of times and has been fixed. The CD player also broke once and has been fixed as well.

          Power button, settings, RSX-1055
          by Glenn
I have temporarily set-up my new RSX-1055 to make sure all is working correctly. It has the latest firmware.

The current set-up is 2 channel. Just the basics for right now. I went into the set-up menu and changed the front main channels to "large". I set all the rest to "none"....
