need help on using rotel rsx-1056

    Hi all,
I just bought a used rotel 1056 and I need help setting up the unit. I'm currently running a coaxial from a dvd player to the unit for sound, the video cable go directly to the tv. What I'm trying to do is to set-up the speaker level and cross-over, but I can't seem to get to it. I have never used rotel products before. I'm reading the manual for the remote rr-1050 and rsx-1056, but no luck. Please help me. Thank you.

You will need to connect some type of video cable from the 1056 to your TV. The setup menu is on TV screen only.

      Hi Kevin,
I connected the video signal of the DVD Player to Composite In-2 and the Coaxial-Output to Digital-Input(Coax-1); no sound would come out if I use Coaxial-Input2 or 3 of the rotel. The Composite Out-2 runs to the TV. And there seems to be no picture if I use Composite In-1; Comp In-2 seem to be the only input that have picture.
I'm starting to question if this unit is messed up.
Thanks for all your time and help, Kevin.

You can choose which video input and which digital audio input each input uses. You need to connect the TV to MONITOR OUT in order to see the setup menu..

          Hey guys,
I just purchased a pair of B&W 805S speakers (they should be delivered in few days). I have a Rotel RMB-1095 amp, Rotel RSP-1066 preamp and RDV-1040 DVD/CD player. When I got my original components I was planning to go 5.1 set up but things changed and I use my system for 2ch stereo...

HELP Rotel RSX 1067 screwed it up
          by NeilGabriel
I got this used, but think I caused the problem. When I set it up, I stupidly plugged the multichannel audio outs from my BR player into the multichannel outs of the receiver instead of the ins.

When played, the receiver went into max volume that could not be turned down until it hit...

          Hi guys,

I just replaced my Denon 3802 with a Rotel 1066 yesterday, hooked up to a Rotel 1075 amp. I haven't had much of a chance to listen to it yet but so far it sounds awesome.

I have a problem with my video connections though. I had no problems with the Denon 3802 so...
