Left side warm on Rotel RB 1080

    Hi

I am new at this forum and I am glad I found it.
    I just purchased a Rotel RB 1080.
It works grate and it has clarity.

I noticed though that the left side of the power amplifier is geting more warmer than the right one.
Is that a problem or a normal behavior?

    I would appreciate your comments

    Thank you

    John

    Hey John,

Its normal. Mine did the same. Never knew why, becuase its a left and right sided amp sharing only the power supply. If one side gets very hot though, can be a biasing difference (I think they are class A/B). So I service tech can adjust the bias down on that side if you like. ( I only know this becuase I took mine in when I had it and the fuse blew and the service tech tested to temprature difference, told me it was normal etc).

      OOPS! 1080-left channel blown
      by pdr711
Hooked up my 1056 and my 1080, got everything working and it sounded great. Hooked up my 12v trigger cable. I could not get it to work first of all and then all the sudden I was not getting sound from my front left speaker.

I read on this forum about some people having trouble with that...

      Rb 1080 Channel Out Again
      by Mitchell
It appears that my 1080 left channel is out once again.
If this is the case after having had the upgrade made by Rotel I will be looking to replace the 1080 with another amp. I just cant be bothered with bringing the thing in and picking it up and knowing that even after a fix the damn thing...

      RB-1080 Left channel fuse blown
      by DL86
The left channel on my 1080 has blown and it seems the fuse has melted away on the channel. Is this an indication of something gone wrong with the amp from an over current? Still searching for a correct replacement fuse.

RB 1080 Fuses and Heat (Long post)
      by cfrahme52
I've owned the RB1080 since March 2004. I believe it is what is referred to as version 3-it has the dual "WBT-like" speaker binding posts.
After over a year of use (listening to classical, chamber, rock, jazz at "healthy" volumes) I lost the right channel.
      A friend,...

      Blown left channel (RB-1080)?
      by rotel&energy
      Hey guys,

This is my first post in a long time, and unfortunately I'm going to open up an old issue - blown left channels on RB-1080s. I've had my 1080 for over 2 years, using the 12 volt trigger, without any problems. Just the other night, I came into the family room and noticed I...
