    OOPS! 1080-left channel blown

Hooked up my 1056 and my 1080, got everything working and it sounded great. Hooked up my 12v trigger cable. I could not get it to work first of all and then all the sudden I was not getting sound from my front left speaker.

I read on this forum about some people having trouble with that in the past. The 12v trigger and the 1080 blowing fuses and what not. I took it back to the dealer, he said and I quote "I have sold Rotel for years and never heard of anything like that happening". I told him what I read on this forum and he basicly was not even listening to me. He is going to have the techs check it out though.

There are different fuses he can put in that I believe solves the problem. Try doing a search for 1080 and blown fuse or something like that to get more specific info. Print off what you find and bring it in to the dealer if you think that will help.

      Dan,

Here is the THREAD you need.

It is a rare problem (so far I am still the only one in Western Austrlia with it) but it is annoying and a few people all over the workd have it. It is sysem specifc and replacing the 1080 with another doesn't help (some combinaiton of speakers, speaker cable and amp). My advice:
      1) Print the thread out
      2) Get the new fused sitted (the 8 amp are better)
      3) Don't use triggers on the 1080 (no problem then)
      4) Enjoy the great sound

        1 x RMB-1095 vs 3 x RB-1080?
        by hired goon
        G'day,

I've currently got an RMB-1095 5x200w amp, about 2 weeks old. For a few hundred dollars, I can trade this in to get 3 x RB-1080 2x200w amps.

I'm wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of such a move.

This is what I've come up with:

        Got another RB-1080 (Silver)
        by dinnu
A local guy was selling a very lightly used silver RB-1080 and I couldn't let it go. You guys may remember that I had fuse blowing issues with my previous (black) RB-1080 (which is at Rotel right now for the fix). I hooked this one up and no issues so far (touch wood). Exact same configuration and...

        Blown fuses....HELP!!!!!!
        by johnnyk666
Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like advice on how to get two new fuses for my Rotel RB971 power amp. The two fuses that cover the left channel have both blown and next to them is a sticker which reads: 250v T3.15AX2. What type of fuses are these in laymans terms, and how do I get hold of them? Cheers,...

        RB 1080 and the 12v trigger/fuse issue
        by anotherdavid
        Hi all

first post, new RB 1080 owner

I've read through a few posts here regarding an issue with fuses blowing on the RB 1080, apparantly, but not exclusively, when using the 12v trigger to switch it.

Is there any way to tell if an amp has had the modification...
