    Upgrade path help...RSX 1055>RSP 1069??? or..

    something else.

I have a rmb 1095 for power. I am trying to do this once and not deal again.

Is going with HDMI really all that important? I used to follow all this stuff and then life got in the way. I am not up to speed. I listen to 60% + 2 channel and the rest home theater. I just moved into a condo with built ins and want to get my TV mounted and everything hooked up but am confused on which path to go.

I would prefer to stay with Rotel because I have been happy with them. But am open to other suggestions...

    Depends...

If you want the latest and greatest audio, then HDMI becomes a little more important. However, something like the Samsung Dual Player has 7.1 analog output for hi-res audio...so you don't technically need HDMI.

But HDMI is going to be the future, so I think it's better to have than not. I'd say if you can wait, maybe see what Rotel will bringout as far as the future models that will probably have TrueHD & DTS-MA decoding. No doubt their decoding is going to sound better than the decoding a HD/Blu-Ray player does.

    Just my opinion of course.
    Digital Audio makes me Happy.

      RSP 1069 and "5.1" Flag
      by jyj
Hi Everyone - I've been a longtime lurker and now a first time poster. I've had the RSP 1069 for over a year and have noticed the "5.1" icon on the florescent panel never illumnates. However the "Dolby Digital" message is displayed when a program is broadcast with the DD content...

      SA 8300HD -> HDMI -> 1069 -> HDMI -> Sony LCD -> Green Tinted Screen
      by Redhawk
Came home, turned everything on, and the image had a green tint. Everything else was normal. Didn't go away until the 8300 was reset. Everything is in a cabinet, and the PS3 was left on so everything was very hot. Has happened before when I'd be playing xbox or PS3 and then turn them off and the 8300...

      1069 question
      by brice1805
      Hello,

I'm the happy owner of a 1069 unit since dec,2007. I recently got a BR player, which send LPCM audio signal to the 1069 over HDMI.

My 1069 indicates "Multichannel 48 kHz" which, i supposed, is correct.

Except i have never got "96 kHz"...

How I've added HDMI 1.3 high bitrate audio decoding to my Parasound C1
      by Chris D
Quite a thread title, I guess. Perhaps I should subtitle it, "or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb... I mean, theater."

As the title says, I've added HDMI 1.3 audio decoding to my home theater, centered around the Parasound C1 home theater controller. As...
