I've not tried a PS3, but I have tried a Pioneer Elite DV-48AV DVD player that converts DSD to PCM and it worked fine with the RSP-1069 in my store. If the PS3 does that conversion, it should work.

In layman terms, can somebody take time to describe for me whether or not I have been listening to these HD audio formats? All I know is this.... On some forums people seem to be discouraged that maybe the 1069 is already obsolete in this HD audio format capacity. On other forums however, people talk about how the PS3 does the decoding of the HD audio tracks and sends it through the ROTEL 1069 via the HDMI connections. These latter forums sound more promising to me, but half the stuff they say goes over my head. For instance, they talk about "PCM" stuff and about "analog connections." What they don't talk about is whether or not the HD audio is loss less as it starts with their Bluray Player, goes through there 1069, and comes out through their speakers. Also, if the PS3 does process the DTS HD through it, and it successfully makes its way through the 1069 unhindered, then why would it be nessesary to buy a 15 series ROTEL processor? Or why would a 15 series ROTEL processor even bother processing these new HD formats? I'm pretty audio ignorant, but I thought that analog connections were more of a means to enjoy hi fidelity LP playback at the begining of the music chain. Analog connections are not the first thing that pop into my head when I think about the PS3's DTS HD audio being loss less as it is converted to "PCM", whatever that means, through the ROTEL 1069. I just don't know. Please, please, please, somebody on this forum, feel my pain, and give me an answer and explanation that I will understand.
