    The cover for my digital....

The cover for my digital out output in my RSP 1068 broke!!! Have no clue how. The connector will not hold the cable in. Does anyone know if this is a fix I can do myself by buying the plastic cover or does this unit have to be sent back to the factory? Do they even sell the cover by itself?

    Thanks

I've never successfully replaced a cover on one of those (and honestly wish everyone would go back to the 'plugged until needed' type).

The optical connectors are part of the digital board and it would most likely need to be replaced. How old is the unit? If it's under a year you might be able to get the 1068 exchanged under their new warranty policy.

For now, usually one wrap of black electrical tape around the end that plugs in will hold it snug.

Actually the unit is about 3 weeks old. I called the guy who sold it to me and he is finding out what can be done. I didn't know that under the new warranty they would just give me a new one. How does that work? What is the new warranty?

In North America a failure in the first year gives you a brand new replacement. A failure in year two gives you a b-stock replacement. Years 3-5 are the standard repair procedures.

By definition a broken cover should fall under the replacement procedure, but I don't make the calls.

            Problems with Rotel & receiver
            by Wrceker
I own an RSX1065, that I am experiencing problems with. The sound is awful, there is no definition or stereo sound to it, as well there is a constant hiss. So, prior to the warranty expiring, I had taken it in to be serviced. The unit was "repaired" & returned to me, whereupon it promptly...

Advice needed: repair or replace unit?
            by BW4me
I have a DTR 5.5 paired with B&W CDMNT series speakers in 5.1 sound.

Last April began having problems with unit just days before warranty ran out. Problem: unit turned on by itself and would switch between various play modes by itself. I got unit repaired under warranty, shipping...

            Classe Warranty
            by beden1
I had a question about the Classe warranty, and wether it is transferable, or not?

I just had my pre-amp in for service and got charged for the repairs, even though it is still under the warranty period . . . and, they originally told me to send it in under warranty after checking the...

            Halo A51 Warranty?
            by gostan
My first post to Club Halo/Parasound is to request some warranty feedback. I am considering purchasing a used (less than 1 year old) Halo A51 amplifier. It would replace an Aragon 8008 (running my front B&W 803's) and a Rotel 1075 (running my center HTM1 and rear 805's). My pre-pro is a Rotel...

A fully Digital Volume Control for the DCX2496 users
            by Victor
I while ago there were many discussions regarding the implementation of the volume control for the DCX2496. I use the combination of the DEQ2496 and the DCX2496 to realize most the EQ needs of my full range 3-way dipole system. Until now I have been using two motorized 4-gang pots from Alps. The pots,...
