    Rsx 1056 hookup two subs?

Is it possible to hook up two subwoofers to the RSX1056? I am going to get two subs primarily for HT use, but I am also thinking of using them for music too. If it is possible to hook up two, are the connections the same for HT or music?

Define two. There's two outputs for subwoofers, but they will play the same information. You will use the same outputs for both music and HT as the crossover's can be set different depending upon what mode you are in.

What you can't have is one output for HT and another for music.

I see the confusion. I meant to write, "If it is possible to hook up two subwoofers to the receiver, then would there be a different connection for HT and music?" I am interpreting your response as indicating that the hook up for HT and music is the same, but the cross overs can be set differently?

      Thanks!

Well, the crossover's can be turned on and off for each mode. IE, for HT you can have all your speakers set to small and all the bass routed to the sub. For music you can have all your speakers set to large and only LFE (.1) information sent to the sub.

You also have independent sub volume for different sound modes as well.

Thanks again .... I know there are two subwoofer preamp outputs that I assume I use one each for the subs I plan to get. Then I just need to uderstand more about how to control the bass output for HT and music. Back to the manual!!

            Preliminary IMD measurements for subwoofers
            by Ilkka
There has been a lot of discussion about intermodulation distortion (IMD) over various Internet discussion boards, and since very few IMD measurements have been done for any subwoofer, most of the discussion has been basically guessing and making overly generous assumptions related to linear excursion...

How does your pre/pro stack up for two channel?
            by Burke Strickland
Some pre/pros that are highly regarded for the quality of their presentation on HT surround modes (DTS, DD 5.1, et al) are not considered truly appropriate for "audiophile" two channel music playback, especially those lacking an analog pass-through. Others have DACs that are easily surpassed...

            Dual subs for two channel.
            by Jesse111
It has taken some real effort but I’ve concluded that two Sunfire subs can be integrated into a high end system better than one. My vinyl buddy on the other hand has concluded that it is not possible. So, here we have two opinions and both are valid and true.

            The Sunfire sub offers...

            RSP-1098 vs RA-1062 for 2 channel Music?
            by whmacs
            Hi All,
I've currently using a Jamo THX speaker system connected to my (RSP-1098/1075/1070) combo for HT. While really enjoyable for movies, it leaves a bit to be desired to two channel stereo. Next year (Feb) I turn 40 (getting old!) and my wife has tentatively agreed to let me get a dedicated...

I have been happily listening to a pair of Mark k RS 28/225 two ways for about 8 years and I am ready for an upgrade. I have read through a bunch of subjective threads looking for comparisons of the mark k design compared to others. There doesn't seem to be much out there other than a couple guys...
