I know you can turn the FL display off but is there a way to actually remove the word 'OFF' from the display when not using the record out function? The WAF does not like the word to be visible. Also, how difficult is it to program the RR-969 remote? I have briefly scanned over the manual.

I found setting rec-out to CD is the least annoying. As far as the 969, it's not too bad at all for quick programming of functions. It can get tedious re-labeled buttons and doing macros.

If it bothers the wife that much, put a black static stick tape over it, or just tell the wife not to look at the darn OFF and it won't bother her. :T :rofl:Comment

I did something dumb and hope somebody out there can help:
I accidently recorded a command for my cable box on the volume up button of the 969. Now, when the device selection on the 969 is "cable", the volume up button does not raise the volume of the Rotel 1055.

I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.
Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention... -
