    Rr-969

    Hi everyone

    I have a RSP 1066 and RR 969 remote. These are now out of warranty.
    The Processor works fine but the remote died.
    It has a black horizontal line across the screen regardless of batteries in or out.
    Other than that it is dead.
    I have tried holing down the reset, but no luck.

    I really dont want to have to fork out hundreds of dollars for a new one.

    Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative replacement remote.
    It doesnt have to have the LCD screen, but I would like to be able to navigate the menus.

    I considered a universal remote, but as the original 969 is not available to teach the universal, I am a bit stuck.

    Any help or advice would be great.

      Do you have a good relationship with a Rotel dealer in your area? If so, I'm sure they wouldn't mind you going in with a Universal and programming it with one of their floor model remotes.

          My procrastination has finally been my undoing. Knowing that my RR-969 for my RSP-1066 was on its last leg, still I balked at getting a universal learning remote.

          Well tonight, it all came to an abrupt end. Despite a thorough disassembly & cleaning the 969 is toast.
