    Noise when changing Volume

    hello

New to the group as have just changed my Sony NA9000ES for a brand new RSP 1098 and quite pleased as well

Anyway I have noticed that when changing volume I can hear a CLICK thru my speakers between volume 66/67 and 74/75

This click can only be heard at these two settings all other settings are clean

Can some of you test this and see if it my machine or a bug in the soft

Am running 1.1.5 -031001; where can I get the latest update

Thanks and happy new year to all

    Trevor,

I have tried and I don't get the clicking (mind you this is a really loud setting for me - on my system 71 is reference).

The software version you have is a "beta" one so try the link to:

    http://www.rotel.com/support/techups/techup-H20.htm

to dowload the latest version of 1.1.6 (instructions etc are on the link & you have the right cable with the 1098 in the box).

    Good Luck

Hi shazbot and welcome to the club.

I do here the clicking at high volumes you are talking about, but have not actually taken dawn the volume numbers it does it at. I remember hearing it every time I was doing calibration of my 1098 (I calibrate at 75dB). I never thought this was something to worry about but maybe Andrew can ask about this from his Rotel contact.

      Thanks,
      Maziar

I'll test it on mine and see if mine does the same thing. Upgrade to the latest firmware and report back and I'll test mine in the meantime.

Have just upgraded to the latest version of the bios 1.1.6 and the clicks are still there

To test this without explosing your ears just play a CD, put it on pause and then change the volume, that way you can here the clicks

Is this normal, RSP-1098 "Clicking"? and Break in period.
            by eulogytool
I broke down and and bought the 1098 after months of debating and I am very happy.

First question is: What is the normal break in period for a Pre/Amp to reach it's full dynamic potential?

Second question: I have my gear loaded onto one circuit and when my refrigerator...

            Hi Guys,
