RCAs or Coaxial for 2-channel stereo?

I have a Rotel RSP-1068 as well as a RMB-1095 powering two RF-7's in the front. I am currently using a Denon DVD-2900 as a transport, and am have been using coxial for both stereo CD listening as well as multi-channel for DVD-viewing. Should I continue using coaxial or use a pair of RCA's when I listen to CD's in stereo?

I have the 1068 and 1095 also and am exploring bass options as we speak. Try using the analog bypass mode for music using rca cables. You will like the difference.

I was looking at the back of my player today and it has three audio outputs, 7-channel output (for SACDs and such), coaxial, and optical. I'm assuming I should select the EXT intput on my preamp? Does the fact that I have the surround and center inputs hooked up matter? I'm assuming it doesn't as when I play a redbook cd the DVD player should output the sound into the front 2-channels.

Yup, connect the multichannel analog outputs of the DVD player, it will allow you to listen to analog 2-ch (Cd's) as well as DVD-A and SACD :T

Even though you use the multi-channel inputs for DVD-A/SACD, you can also hook up two additional stereo inputs (if your player has them) to the CD input on your 1068. This way, you can save your stereo settings (e.g., Bypass) for that input separately from other inputs.

Yep that was what I was thinking but my player does not have any additional L/R analog outputs in the back (which is strange because it does have great CD playback). Anyway I've been listening to it through the multi-input and boy does it sound great! It's a night and day difference, the imaging and clarity but possibly the biggest improvement was in the bass :T

Impedance for Analog and Coxial input to RSP 1069
              by rum
I plan to connect a CD player from Marantz CD 6003 to the RSP 1069 which is connected to a power amp RMB 1077.
The Specs for the CD 6003 output is listed below.
Would like to know if there is any issue of impedance mismatch with input expectations to the Analong input and the Coaxial...

Questions for RSP 1066 - 2CH Stereo and Cables
              by Lonewolf
              Hi all

After doing a search and reading alot of threads on this forum, i fear i may have either learnt alot or confused myself more than ever.

I have got a RSP 1066 (you figured that) and had some queries on how to get optimum sound out of it for 2 channel stereo from...

Optical vs. Digital Coaxial AUDIO OUT
              by bambahtg9700
So my DVD player has both of these options for audio out. I'm sort of forced to use the Digital Coaxial over the Optical audio out because my receiver does not have any more Optical inputs left.

Is there any sound quality differences between the two? It seems like a digital coax would...

Bel Canto Pre2 preamp for stereo upgrade?
              by Jeff Mayer
              Hi all,

I'd appreciate any collective wisdom on the Bel Canto Pre2 stereo preamp as a significant upgrade over my Onkyo 797 receiver. I'm using the onkyo's preout's into a Parasound a51 amplifier. I feel that for movies the onkyo is fine but for stereo it is lacking. I listen to at...

              2ch vs 5ch Stereo
              by madmac
Ok I'm gone from this thread but I still maintain that Rotel gear is an excellent product across the board in all their equipment!. And TommyV.....2channel stereo??. That's basically old school and by and large gone. Sorry!. Once I powered up my unit to output in 5ch stereo (properly calibrated!!)...
