    1098 users, what's your setting?

I'll start off with saying Hi first, how's everyone been? Anything new I missed?

I have been enjoying my 1098/1095 combo like crazy still, but one thing I have grown to dislike is the blank screen for my 1098. I would love to have the picture output for what movie I'm watching, but I run progressive scan and it doesn't work (at least that I know of).

What do you all have for your settings, just blank as well?

    Merry Christmas.

I have the "system status" screen on all the time. I have it programed into my pronto pro to come on as part of the power up macro.

It depends on your DVD player and if it will output composite at the same time as the other output you are using.

For instance I use a Denon 3910 via component, and it simultaneously out puts composite at the same time, hence I am able to watch the video on the screen at the same time.

That's nice, my Denon DVD 1600 doesn't, I've tried Why doesn't Rotel upgrade this to have progressive able to display?

I here ya. I wanted the same thing. How bad do you want it? You could split off the signal and convert it and feed the 1098.

I had the same issue but I use an HTPC... so I had to install another video card that had TV out and would clone the signal. Works great!

Rotel 1060 Video connection with 1098/Plasma.
            by >>Angel<<
            Dear Rotel enthousiasts,

Yesterday I bought a Pioneer plasma screen to complete my Rotel setup
After concluding all the (required) connections I found out that there's a problem displaying (progressive or not) an 1060 image on the Plasma screen.
            I really hope...

RSP 1098 and progressive scan dvd/dvd audio players
            by Henk
The RSP 1098 TFT screen displays no video unless a usable signal is passed through the composite video connection. However, as pointed out in the RSP 1098 manual not all dvd players, set in progressive mode, output a usable composite video signal. This is true also for dvd players that play dvd audio....

            Hi,
This is my attempt at a V2.0 Wish list of enhancements for the Rotel RSP 1098

This updated list is based on feedback on the V1.0 list published in a separate thread within this forum and a second consolidated view of all the other threads I can find in this and several other...

            RSP 1098 TFT Stretches 4:3
            by btully
Some of my DVDs are 4:3. However, whatever I do, the 1098's TFT display stretches this material the full width of the display. I do, however, get a proper 4:3 ratio from my monitor when I take the composite signal that is feeding the TFT and use it to feed the monitor. Is this something lacking in...

            1098 conversion composite to component
            by Kees
I'm getting my 1098 tomorrow, but downloaded the manual from Rotel's website. I have a question on the conversion from composite or SVideo to Component. I hope one of you can help me!

            My ideal setup is:
            VIDEO 1: S-VHS player (with S-video cable)
            VIDEO 2: Hi-8 player (with...
