    Newbie questions

I'm currently assembling a home theater in bits and I'm interested in the RSX 1056.

I've already got the Atlantic Technology 1200 speakers with the center channel. First question: is that a good pairing? I happen to think it is for my purposes - it's a 5.1 speaker system and I'm looking for an excellent sounding receiver, but nothing extravagant.

Next: Does the 1056 have lip synch delay? I'm a newbie and the answer is not clear to me from the web site. Also what is the retail price - I see that audioreview.com lists the MSRP as $1299 - and what do you think is a fair price to pay in cash in NYC?

Lastly, is Rotel planning on releasing a DVD player with HDMI and/or HD-DVD -Blu-Ray player?

    Thanks,

    M.

Don't expect more than 10% discount from MSRP ($1299) on the unit.

I got mine for $1,000 brand new :T

And yes, 1056 has lip synch delay option in setup menu.

        Newbie RSX-1056 vs Integra Receivers
        by Scottj
Hi, I've been a lurker for 6 months. I am going upgrade my reciever and speakers within the next year. I like most are on a limited budget. I've got the problem that my wife wants the Cewin Vega D-9's out of the living/dining room "too big". So I started looking at speakers JM Lab, Klipsch,...

I'm a newbie just starting to look at HT. I have two questions that I hope aren't too dumb.

        1. As a general rule, will a new DVD player (even an inexpensive middle-tier one) tend to produce better CD performance than my 1992 Rotel CD player just by virtue of 13 years of general technology...

Components out from RDV 1060 thru RSX 1056
        by Vicente
        Hello everybody.

As I just bought a Mitsubishi HC3000 projector (resolution up to 1080i), I changed the components connections from directly from the RDV1060 to the projector, to pass through the RSX 1056 so I could connect some more devices to the pj with the same cable.
