    Newbie RSX-1056 vs Integra Receivers

Hi, I've been a lurker for 6 months. I am going upgrade my reciever and speakers within the next year. I like most are on a limited budget. I've got the problem that my wife wants the Cewin Vega D-9's out of the living/dining room "too big". So I started looking at speakers JM Lab, Klipsch, Energy, B&W, Totem, Paradim, and JM Lab. Then I quickly realize that my 15 year old dolby reciever is not gonna give me the most from these speakers. So I switched gears and started to think that upgrading my reciever first was the best option. I'm 60%music, 30%lsitening to TV, and 10% DVD.

I've listened to Marantz, Rotel, and Integra. I would like to go 5.1 due to the layout of my living room. I would also like to add a two channel amp for my fronts in the future. I like the features of the Intgera like the net-tunes and 100 watts per channel, and features for the $. My gut tells me that the Rotel would be a more solid choice for 2 channel music. THe RSX-1056 to some people has a bit much hiss and a resistor clicking/popping sound.

I'm looking for a little guidance/comfort level with the 1056. My current speaker choice would be B&W 600 series, Energy, or Totem. My music tastes very but I still return the the 70's and 80's rock. I do like to listen to my music loud.

Thanks for any insite you have

I've had the 1056 for about a month now - the new one. The first one I returned after 3 days because of the clicking, popping static noise. The second one has been trouble free for the last four weeks. My belief is you will either get this right away, as I did, or not at all. Both of these units have never had the hiss issue - you have to be closer than an inch to hear any noise from the tweeters no matter what volume - without a source.
As for two channel music I have never had a reciever with this good a sound, and I've had a few - Yamaha, marantz, kenwood, technics.
I am listening to music non stop now - there is that much difference.
Just for kicks I went back to the dealer and had him hook up the rb1080 to the 1056 so I could hear the difference/ improvement. I walked out with that 1080 the same day. Again, it's only been 3 days, but no hiss, no popping noise, and the sound - brilliant. If you want better sounding music it will cost you more that that combo and to me the improvement would be personal taste and I personally am very happy. No comparison to the mass market recievers in my opinion.
Try and get one home to demo and see for yourself.
Also, I have NEVER had a reciever that could actually tune radio stations worth a damn - the 1056 is awesome for that - in my area anyways. No static - just clear music.

I've got the 1056 with B&W 600s and the sound is KILLER. The 600's like to be played loud and the 1056 delivers a combination of power, accuracy, and control that is awesome. I had the same experience as the previous poster - when I got my 1056 I tripled the amount of time I spent each day listening to music. I have had a Yamaha receiver and a Denon receiver on the B&Ws, and there is absolutely no comparison with the 1056 - it is a MAJOR improvement.

        1056 and 1080?
        by Kens1
Hi, I am very new to Rotel and have a basic question about adding the 1080 2 channel amp to my 1056 reciever.
Although the 1056 sounds very good in 2 channel for music (way better than my old receiver/s) I know there can always be room for improvement.
Does anyone already have this set...

        Reciever Tryouts

On Saturday I was planning on testing out a Rotel RSX-1055. But to my dismay another salesman loaned it to another person. My sales guy felt bad and loaned me a Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX. I wasn't in market for the Pioneer so I don't know of all the specs (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA...

Yet another question about RSX-1067 hiss/pop

        Hey all!

I'm a first time Rotel owner, been eyeing the RSX since the introduction of the 1065. First off, I did find a good amount of info on the hiss/pop issue amongst the threads, but didn't find much info on my questions and issues specifically so I decided to start a new thread,...

I was thinking of getting a rotel 1056, to replace my yahma primariley for better music playback. But was wondering if a 1070 would be...
