I noticed the other day that when I have my stereo setup at a very low volume...the left channel is considerably louder than the right. It only happens at a volume level so low you can barely hear it unless you get right up on the speakers so im not too concerned; just curious if there is a problem. As soon as I increase the volume or decrease it from this point, the left channel bias goes away. My equipment is listed in my signature.

thyname,Originally posted by thynameWhere in Northern Virginia do you live? You have same Rotel gear as me, excluding RB-1070, which I upgraded to RB-1080. Do you like your B&W speakers?
everythings stationed in mclean. love my speakers of course. i listened to a ton of speakers before settling on the b&ws...they have a warmth to them that i didnt really get in any other set of speakers that were in my price range.
thank you all for your replies...i feel much better. :TRB-1070

It could be an inherent limitation of the volume pot being a regular attenuator. A stepped-attenuator, on the other hand, would have perfect and precise left/right channel balancing.
Right now, I'm debating whether I should send my preamp in to be modded with stepped attenuators.

While attempting to operate the volume control, using the remote control, I get no response. Other functions, such as source selection, mute, and on/off,...-

by LexI know many of you have kept up with the events of the Tragedy of Virginia Tech this week. I too have watched, and tried to learn more, to make some sense of this senseless tragedy. The bottom line is, there is no sense to be made, it's just chaos, heartache, horrific bloodshed, hurt and destroyed...-

by vifferboyHello
I just picked up a RC1090 from Audiogon, the unit is in excellent condition and sounds very nice. I had an RC1070 before which always seemed a bit bright to me, the RC1090 is very smooth.
Anyway the one small downer on the deal is that the seller failed to mention...-

by luszerInterested if anyone has an RB1080 or 991 teamed up with either RC1070 or older pre-amp such as RC995. In doing research, a used RC955 costs about same as a new RC1070. Wait are the differences and sonic characters on either pre-amp? Any info greatly appreciated. Tyring to make a hard decision on investing...-
