RC1070 no volume from remote??

    RC1070 no volume from remote??

    I currently own the RC1070 preamp (along with the RB1080 amp) and have experienced an issue about 4-5 times in the last year that has me concerned. While attempting to operate the volume control, using the remote control, I get no response. Other functions, such as source selection, mute, and on/off, using the remote are fine. My resolutions to the problem have varied. A couple of times 2-3 minute reset (unplug from power) of the preamp have fixed it. Another time, I shut it off for the night, turned it on in the morning, and it operated flawlessly. Most recently, it came back on its own.

    I am completely stumped. I have owned it for about 3 years now. I know the remote is emitting IR as I checked the output using my cellphone camera. Has anyone heard of this?

    I also sent this to Rotel's tech support, but I am hoping that somone from this forum may have encountered this issue as well....

    Have you tried more batteries? Rotel should respond soon. Shawn is good about this.

      It sounds like you've tried everything you should have to troubleshoot the problem. It seems like it's a software issue in the preamp. It may have to go in for service. Let us know what Rotel tech support say.

        I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM right now. Did you ever get this issue resolved???
