New entry level receiver and DVD player

I normally never look at the Rotel website, but it seems to me that there is a new receiver and DVD player for us folks here in Europe.

    and

At least some effort in the range of the lower Denon's and Yamaha's and probably more musical sounding...

    Exellent 40 W receiver
but I think the best choice from Rotel is 200 W per channel

Hey nice pickup these look like some very nice entry level units that would be well worth a listen.

IMO if they get it right 2ch playback but with all the AV requirements would be a strong selling point (if they get the 2ch right).

Interesting, that must have only been added to their site very recently. I check the site now and again to see if there's anything new. If they'd posted early this year I would have been in a dilemma as to what kit to buy as I did briefly consider the RSDX-02 (for space reasons) but decided to go with the RDV-1060 and RSX-1056 for feautures and sound quality. In no way do I regret my decision so perhaps it was better (for me at least) that this info has only just been released.

Well it does have the "redirect" function and pre-outs, so you can always add a RB-1050 or RB-1070 to power the front channels.

True, but then it doesn't match. Call me a fashion victim but I like my kit to match. Checked the specs again and noticed it didn't say whether RSDX03 does progressive scan, in fact I couldn't see any mention of outputs! The fact that RSDX02 was SCART only also put me off. It seems to be the kind of unit you'd pair with a plasma or LCD screen so really needs to do prog scan or even HDMI to be a success.

That little guy would be attractive as a bare-bones, mostly-audio pre-pro... if it had a full set of pre-outs.

Subwoofer volume level and receiver volume level : A sub newbie question
                by AwArEnEsS
This will be my first sub and I have a question: Is there a volume knob on subwoofers? If yes, while changing volume levels of a/v receiver and subwoofer, how can I know if the subwoofer can handle that level? Or is increasing receiver's volume level does not affect subwoofer's toleration?

As I am on the verge of getting a separate amp to drive my new Klipsch FR-83s. Using my rather entry level receiver as the pre-amp (it does have pre-outs for separate amplification). I looked into gettting a better receiver in the mean time (or even as a full solution, I don't know). I am working...

                Hi folks,

I have a new Onkyo receiver SR505 that I really like. But I kinda caught the upgrade bug. I've been upgrading my the speakers that came with my htib, and I'm starting to look a little further down the line. I would eventually like to get a 2 ch. amp for my fronts. Problem...

                Favourite Entry Level Receivers
                by P-Dub
Just wondering what people like to recommend as their favourite quality entry level AV Receiver. I'm thinking

                around the $500 range.

At the moment I like the feature set of the new x30 Yamahas. The 630 seems like a great value at $499. 75Wx6, all

                Entry level tube/valve amp advice
                by pedro77
                Hi

I'm interested in getting a tube amp and was hoping someone here may have listened to a couple of the amps I'm considering. I basically got interested when I read some rave reviews about the great value of the Miniwatt S1, which has since been superseded by the N3.

                As...
