    03/18/2005 - 1068/1056/1067/1098 Upgrades from Rotel - Now Available

    FYI.. Software upgrades now available

    RSP 1098:

V3.1.1 to V3.1.4 - Fixed an intermittent problem of units locking into “Standby” mode until the rear panel power toggle was engaged. - Improved digital input sensing and format detection. This improvement fixes any problems with no audio when changing channels with some Scientific Atlanta HD digital cable boxes.

V3.1.4 to V3.1.5 - Corrected an error in V3.1.4 which caused very low center channel output when switching between DD/PLII to PLII modes.

    RSP 1068 / RSX 1056/1067:

V1.2.0 to V1.2.1 - Fixed an intermittent problem of units locking into “Standby” mode until the rear panel power toggle was engaged. - Improved digital input sensing and format detection. This improvement fixes any problems with no audio when changing channels with some Scientific Atlanta HD digital cable boxes.

V1.2.1 to V1.2.2 - Corrected an error in V1.2.1 which caused very low center channel output when switching between DD/PLII to PLII modes.

          Hi Guys,
Applied the firmware upgrade this morning. RSP-1098 is now showing v2.1.8. Also did a factory reset. I've given everything a quck run through and have experienced no issues. That being said, I wasn't having any issues with v2.1.7 either, but I can't get HD in my area. I'll be interested to hear from anyone who was having the DD5.1 issue with HD broadcasts to see if v2.1.8 fixes the problem. HD broascasts are commencing here next month.

          cheers,

PLII vs DSP 5-ch on 1055
            by stewc
I watch a lot of SD video through my 1055 (analog cable channels, for example.) Two modes: through Tivo (analog audio to 1055) or Moto5100 STB (digital audio to 1055). In either case, I've been very disappointed with the 5-channel imaging of DD PLII Cinema -- seemed overly concentrated on the front-center...

            RDC PLII Question
            by gladelson
I have owned a RDC-7 for several months and there is something that I haven't figured out. My unit came with the PLII and DTS-ES upgrade. In menus 3-5 and 3-6 you can set the Prologic II mode to either "Movie" or "Music" for those surround modes (2 channel). These settings appear...

Is Dolby PLII Music supposed to sound awful?
            by Nicholas Renter
I dropped in a CD and immediately noticed that something didn't sound right (and that "awfulness" was coming from the rear speakers). Somehow, my RSP-1066 was in "Dolby PLII Music" mode.

I decided to do some investigation. I cut the output of the front left and right...

            1050-E,1067,1080 Muffled Sound, Low Volume
            by lars
            Hello All,

I haven't been very happy with the sound from my setup, so as a last ditch effort (because I just didn't want to believe the problem is my 1067), I tried connecting a 500 Euro Yamaha receiver and, rather unfortnately, it sounded considerably better than my considerably more...

Yet another question about RSX-1067 hiss/pop
            by rotelnyc2
            Hey all!

I'm a first time Rotel owner, been eyeing the RSX since the introduction of the 1065. First off, I did find a good amount of info on the hiss/pop issue amongst the threads, but didn't find much info on my questions and issues specifically so I decided to start a new thread,...
