    2 channel Amps for a Rotel 1055

I'd like to upgrade to 7.1 asap with my new 1055 and have decided instead of buying a 70wpc amp for the rear surrounds that I want to get a more powerful amp and use it to power my mains and redirect the onboard mains to the back.

I would love to get a Rotel 1070 to use in that regard as 130wpc would be nice for both music and HT, and it would match my 1055, but it is too pricey for me. So I will more than likely go with a used amp from eBay or Audiogon.

So what manfacturers amps match well with the Rotel sound? Parasound, Carver, Adcom, or simply older Rotel amps?

What will determine my decision is price, so I'd like to know what amp I will be able to live with if I can't go Rotel.

    Thanks for the help.

you ought to be able to find a 2 or 5 channel Rotel amp used for a reasonable cost. Also you could go with the 5 channel amp and bi amp your mains and use the 5th on your centre.

There's this one that you could likely run bi amped across the front three speakers

    Or this used 1070

    Or this used 990

I had my Parasound 1205A before owning the Rotel 1066, but, yes, they do work together really nicely, so I'd throw Parasound's name into the pool of good synergistic matches with Rotel pre-pros and receivers.

Does anyone here use a Rotel amp to drive a subwoofer? I've got a 15" DVC that can handle 1000w RMS and 2000w peak. The specs are here: http://www.crucialconcepts.com/cc/Ro...20rfr3115.html

Yep, it's a car audio sub but it sounds amazing...

Don't leave the store without hearing the Rotel amp you buy unless you have hooked it up to speakers and evaluated the noisefloor in a quiet environment. Folks, I have come to realize that possibly all of the new RSX-1067's (and possibly other amps too since people report same issues) coming from Rotel...

        Power on Rotel Amp
        by madmac
Anyone leave the power on all the time on their amps?. Ever since I moved into my new place, I basically leave my Rotel amp on all the time. Same for my CD player. I'm of the opinion that turning gear on and off causes more potential problems/ damage that just leaving it on. Same for my Sony RPTV. When...

Which Rotel amp to power the Proac Studio 110 loudspeakers?
        by lopezzz
        Hello!

After hearing to several loudspeakers I decided to go with new Proac's Studio 110.

I was recommended to use the Rotel amplifier to drive these speakers. Last Saturday I did listen the Proacs with Rotel RA-1062 and found this combination, for my amateur understanding,...
