Hello All:
I use a Denon DVD-1600 player for DVD-Audio playback in conjunction with Rotel-1098 processor. The problem that I have is actually more with the Rotel remote controller.
According to the manual, pressing down and holding any of the input buttons on the top row (TAPE, CD, V1-V5, EXT) should make the processor switch the appropriate input selection as well change the device selection on the remote accordingly. However, I am not able to make this work for the EXT button.
Here’s is my setup:
The Denon DVD player is connected to the V2 input using an optical cable.
It is also connected to the 6-channel analog input for DVD-Audio playback.
If I hold down the V2 button on the remote, the processor does change its input to V2 (which has been assigned one of the two optical inputs) and also changes the device selection on the remote. I have programmed the remote to operate the DVD player when V2 is pressed.
But, if I hold the EXT button down, it does not select the input on the processor nor it change the device selection on the remote. I noticed that it tries to switch the device selection to that corresponding to the input V1 (which the manual says is reserved for a Rotel DVD player).
Whenever I want to switch to DVD-Audio playback, I have to navigate through the menu to select that input.
I am sure I am missing something here. Has anyone seen this?
Thanks
Viji
