Info wanted on Rotel a/v receivers

Hello all, I am considering buying a new Rotel receiver however I have been told by 2 different Sydney dealers that they do not sell Rotel receivers.

They do however sell other Rotel gear.

Is anyone aware of any issues with the RSX 1056 or the RSX 1067?

Also I am interested to know how the multichannel stereo sounds compared to Prologic 2 when playing music cd,s.(I have heard PL2)

Yes I can hear it now, I am supposed to listen to cd,s in 2 channel for best sound however I have found the 5 channel stereo effect on other receivers to be very good, eg Marantz

    Thanks for any info/replies

It depends on the mix as to which sounds best 5 channel stereo or PLII music. I find old mix's from the days of Quad stereo like Pink Floyd really do well in a 5 channel stereo mix where as PLII Music tends to be more front heavy. Of course you can adjust that to suit your taste but we'll assume we're talking about them in their stock form.

As for issue the 1056 and 1067 are both fairly bug free and wonderful sounding receivers.

      Hello,
I am new to this forum. I am an audiophile with some restrictions to my location - I live in Brooklyn so space is limited, hence the need for smaller Quad Bookshelf speakers and the need to use a Sunfire Subwoofer even though I normally never use Subs. That being said here's where things...

      Rotel + Sub
      by BWLover
Hello everyone! I'd like some advice on how to hook up a B&W subwoofer with a stereo pre-amp, as I have only ever done this with receivers (dedicated sub out line). I would like to use the crossover on the sub to send anything above 80hz to my B&W 683S1's. What are my options for doing this...

      Hi all:

I will purchase a pair of B&W CM4 speakers and a CM series central channel. I live in an apartment right now so don't have the space to setup 5.1 but I will move into a house in next two year. I am also going to a Rotel receiver or pre/pro/amp combo. My candidate choices are:...

Don't leave the store without hearing the Rotel amp you buy unless you have hooked it up to speakers and evaluated the noisefloor in a quiet environment. Folks, I have come to realize that possibly all of the new RSX-1067's (and possibly other amps too since people report same issues) coming from Rotel...
