I use an RSX-1055, 1st off, you may have had youre gain set higher (speaker set up +db) and when you factory reset it puts them all back to 0. Am assuming you used an spl meter and have calibrated all speakers? 2ndly DD 5.1 and DD EX both need a digital signal into the reciever (dvd, etc....) in order to decode and process or play as such. Standard non DD signal can be played as dolby prologic II, Rotels 4 created soundfields, 5 channel, or 7 channel, hope this helps.

Make sure the input is assigned correctly through the on-screen menu.

        :agree:

try to check if your coax (or optical) is assigned to the input where the DVD player is connected...

On the RSX-1055, Rotel's OSM is only available via the S-Video or composite "monitor Out", not the Component!...

and I think that Progressive is also only available via component cables...not S-video...

(if I understand well your question)

                RSX-1055 reset problem
                by gillen
My RSX-1055 sometimes reset to factory default preset, so I must reenter the parameters again.
I sent to Rotel service and after a month they returned me with no problem verification.
                Anyone knows this problem?
                Thank you

                ROTEL 1066/1075 vs. 1055/1070
                by doodleboytoy
I am strongly considering Rotel for my new HT setup due to the numerous positive reviews I read about it. Currently, my plan is to run Paradigm Studio 60 fronts, Studio CC and Studio ADP surrounds using either a Rotel 1066 + 1075 set-up or a 1055 set-up in a 25’ x 20’ room.

                1055 Dolby surround problems?
                by rotel&energy
I was watching TV the other night and noticed that the sound switched from my front speakers to my rear speakers abruptly. I have my 1055 set to Dolby ProLogic for TV, but I rarely get more than some ambient sound from my rear speakers. The switch didn't seem normal and after about 10 seconds, it...

                RSX-1055 not working. Please help!!
                by thanirs
                Hi all,

I own RSX-1055 and RDV-1060. I have had them for 5+ years now. Both have been consistently unreliable. RSX-1055 broke a couple of times and has been fixed. The CD player also broke once and has been fixed as well.

Last week, when I turned on the RSX-1055, it made...

                :!:

I have the RSX-1055 and just noticed some very peculiar things:

                1. I was playing a standard CD music track (not a burned CD) and had Dolby Prologic II format running on the Rotel. What I noticed was the sound would cut in and out on the rear surround speakers. IS...
