    Hi reese,

I'm a previous owner of an RB-1080 and a current owner of an Emotiva XPA-2. They are both worthy amps. The XPA-2 has a bit more power, which suits my 803Ds more. It is largely similar to the Rotel in all other respects. If loud music is your thing then I'd go for the XPA-2 as the extra headroom will make for a more relaxed listening experience.

My preamp is a Rotel RC-1082, which must be relatively inexpensive now as it's 3 years old. It's a very acceptable preamp that gives me no reason to change. It has tone controls, which are useful if your speakers lean towards the bright side and/or you listen to a wide variety of music that might include mp3's.

    Nigel.

      B&W 684 with Rotel Ra-05
      by JaonL
Please help me. I'm fairly new to this. I'm trying to set up a good stereo system. I would like to know if anyone has experience with the B&W 684. Is it a good all rounder for all sorts of music. Does it match with the Rotel Ra-05. I'm on the verge of purchasing the amp and speakers. Have heard...

Which has more bass? 683's vs CM9's?
      by JaguarXKR
Which of these speakers have better bass, since i am building my system and i have two 684's right now, but want my next pair to have more bass. So which of these two have better bass, 683 or the CM9's?
      Thanks for any info,
      Mike

Is my reciever up to the test for B&W's?
      by JaguarXKR
I currently have a Pioneer SX-1080 and a Sony STRDH520. Currently looking for Sansui G-9700. Are my two current recievers decent enough to power my B&W's 684's and most likely CM9's?
