cm9 & 684 b&w set up info for amp etc i need help

ive just picked up some cm9 & a pair of 684 has any one got ideas for a pretty good amp set up etc preamps with out blowing a stupid amount of money but bang for ya buck type of thing??
i was looking at a rotel rb1080 for the 200 watt cm9 & a bit smaller one for the 684 being 150watts but the pass lab x250,5 looks good as a big amp a bit dear if you get my price range but ive not herd any of these so ime going out to hi fi shop taking my speakers with me to plugem in to some of there best amps & work down from there to see what sound i like & hope its the cheaper one its for my work shop its about 20 x 20 metre square to fill with tilt slap concrete walls not the best environment to sort out it will be better if you gals & guys can point in the right direction

i will ask for that brand this week end at the hi fi shop it would be good to hear it first to be sure of the sound if i can find it ,do you no of any other amps that might sound the same as that brand ,
i just looked it up from your link thanks alot for that theres a big 200 watt xpa5 5channel job there it looks the part & yes its does look cheap ile try to get a listern some where if possible
ive got an onkio sr805 amp 140what per chanell running at the moment but it sounds pretty flat & it sounds distorted & under power by far & hard on the ears mid range i cant listern to it for long & its probibly not doing my speaker any good so ime not hardly turning it up much
ive got a 5006 marantz at home for movies running 603 s3 & cm5 & some big b&w sub i think its 400 or 500 watt its a bit to big but that set ups no to bad untill i wake the kidds up so i though of building a good system at work that can crank just for music with out my ear hurting ime going to have to get the music from some where other than cds so i dont have to change them all the time does anyone no how to get clear loss less songs from the computer to the speakers & still keep it high quality vai the amp etc or should i also try the other sites listed for that part of it me being new & all not sure there?

I believe Emotiva is only sold online...part of the reason they're so cheap.

Emotiva only sells direct online with a 30 day trial. You will not find it in stores. If you don't like it, you send it back to Tennessee and you are only out the cost of shipping (which is not bad if you are in the US).

I can say with confidence you won't be shipping it back. For even double the price you will have a hard time touching it. But don't take my word for it..

Hi reese,

I'm a previous owner of an RB-1080 and a current owner of an Emotiva XPA-2. They are both worthy amps. The XPA-2 has a bit more power, which suits my 803Ds more. It is largely similar to the Rotel in all other respects. If loud music is your thing then I'd go for the XPA-2 as the extra headroom will make for a more relaxed listening experience.

My preamp is a Rotel RC-1082, which must be relatively inexpensive now as it's 3 years old. It's a very acceptable preamp that gives me no reason to change. It has tone controls, which are useful if your speakers lean towards the bright side and/or you listen to a wide variety of music that might include mp3's.
