I just bought a C1. It works perfectlly but for some reason I do not get the lcd panel to show the video program. I am only using the component inputs. Does anybody have an idea what may be going on?. The panel works just fine accesing the menus.

First, check to make sure you are on the right mode for the lcd. Pushing the "main" button once brings up the basic status stuff, pushing the "main" button a second time will put it in video preview mode.
Also, how do you have the source connected? It won't work via component video, only on S video or composite.- Bottom

The component video on the C1/C2 is a straight pass-through. Since the OSD doesn't work with component, it is understandable that the C1 LCD won't display component video either...Originally posted by aarebaloIt seems the problem is with the vidoe input. I am using component, not S-video or composite.
Thanks
A future hardware upgrade that adds component OSD might possibly fix the problem...

Actually, the LCD screen won't work with S-video, either. You must connect a composite video cable for the video to display on the screen. This is specified in the manual.
Like Brian said, though, it's very easy to run a composite video cable from your video source in addition to any other video cables you run. It doesn't even have to be a quality cable if it's only for preview purposes.
Me, I'd rather not have any interference or signal degradation trying to tie in the higher video connections to the LCD display, so this is okay with me.

Hmmm... well, page 37 of the C1 manual states "Signals from the S-video inputs also appear at the composite output jacks of the C1..." Page 38 clarifies that this is only the composite OSD output jack, not the non-OSD.
However, the only thing I could find in the manual specifically adressing the built-in screen is under troubleshooting on page 57.
Problem: Built-in screen doesn't show video program
Cause: No composite video signal available
Solution: Attach a cable from the composite video output of each source to the corresponding C1 composite video input jack
To be honest, I haven't tried connecting video sources via S-video and then see if they display on the screen without a composite connection. I'm travelling right now, but maybe somebody else could try this and see what happens? The manual seems to say that it's composite only.

I have a problem with my video connections though. I had no problems with the Denon 3802 so...-

by AdrianDear All,
I have a 6month old PLV-Z2 projecting about 2m to a 6ft screen.
Recently I have begun to see a red halo, about 1-2 pixels wide above OSD menus and also from a component signal from a DVD. This is accompanied by
a similar blue effect below.

by skipmSince this is the first receiver/processor that I've owned with more than 2 component video inputs I wanted to check with the other 1098 owners in the group to make sure I was reading the setup information correctly. You can connect 5 video sources, labeled Video 1 thru 5. You have 4 component video...-
