    B&w 805 d3

Hi, calling all 805 D3 users to share what is your matching set up for this speaker?
Iam currently using Rotel RC 1590 and RB 1582MK II to power this speaker and wonder what are the better options available for this beautiful speakers?

    Thank you.

      Thank u.
      Iam considering Bryston 7B SST2, Mcintosh MC 302 & MC 500.
Are these overkill for my speaker and would it damage the speaker?

More likely to damage a speaker by under powering it than over powering it. And if you're playing at a volume where the amp is too much for the speaker then you certainly would be frying your tweeters with a lesser powered amp

I also agree. Underpowered is worse. I had a Rotel receiver, then a 200 watt 2 channel amp, and now a 385 watt 2 channel amp. I can NOT believe how loud my speakers can get with my RB-1090 powering them. I've tested the dB just for the hell of it (with hearing protection). I can guarantee that if I tired to get the sound pressure levels I've gotten with the 1090 from the RSX-1058, I would have blown the speakers, easily. Throw as much power as you want at the speakers is my view on things. More power generally means better control of the speaker. Plus B&W speakers love power/current. Google "underpowered amplifier clipping"
