    B&W 640i and HTM61 center channel

    I recently purchased a pair of B&W 640i for $300. Excellent condition
previous owner did not used it for years. I am now looking for a center
    channel to match the speaker.
Is the HTM61 good match for the 640i?

Also where can I get B&W speaker spikes besided B&W company?

    Thanks in advance!

I would not go for the HTM61.. I used to have one and it wasn't even a good match for the 683s it goes with. But I am hard on centers..

You might consider the CMC2, but it is a bit pricier then the HTM61..

You can find speaker spikes almost anywhere (Ebay etc.) The B&W spikes are nothing special...
    Main System:
    B&W 801D
    Emotiva USP-1 Pre-Amp
    Chord SPM-650 Stereo Amp
    Oppo BDP-105
    Squeezebox Touch

    Second System:
    B&W CM7
    Emotiva UMC-1
    Emotiva UPA-2
    Oppo BDP-83SE
    Grant Fidelity DAC-09

A lot of negative reviews on htm61 I will do research on cmc2 . My friend has a 602 s1. I don't know how well it will perform as a center channel

        CMC2 or HTM4s to match with 683 S1?
        by dickers
Long time reader, but only recently a member.

I recently replaced my Paradigm Studio 60 with B&W 683 S1 speakers. My usage is 80% HT and 20% music and I love them. I now need to find a matching center channel. Based on the bad reviews of the HTM61 S1, those are out of the question....

My thoughts on the new CMC2 center channel
        by btf1980
I decided to upgrade my CMC center channel to the new CMC2 center channel, and I can wholeheartedly say that it has been a very sound decision. In terms of size, the CMC2 is a lot larger than the CMC. The CMC2, while far from being the largest center channel in the world is still deceptively heavy....

B&W 600 vs. CM series - cost vs. benefit?
        by nirvana_1911
        I have the B&W 683, HTM61, 685 and Velodyne SPL1200U.

I done some listening at the local store, A/B testing various 600 and CM series gear.

With the 685 and CM5, the CM5 has less low-end, but has much better clarity and resolution, sounds stronger in the high mids and...

        Please Help: HTM61 or 62 with 685?
        by frog2frog
        Hi All

I am a newbie with speakers. I am planing to get the B&W685 for my L&R ASW610 for sub, but not sure which centre (HTM61 or 62) to match it with.

I know B&W suggest using HTM62 with the 685. In terms of spec, the HTM61 has the FST midrange and it goes...
