My thoughts on the new CMC2 center channel

I decided to upgrade my CMC center channel to the new CMC2 center channel, and I can wholeheartedly say that it has been a very sound decision. In terms of size, the CMC2 is a lot larger than the CMC. The CMC2, while far from being the largest center channel in the world is still deceptively heavy. It weighs about 40lbs.

I thought it would be a better match for my CM7's and it would improve my front stage dramatically over the CMC, and that it did. I watched a lot of dialogue heavy films these last few days to see how well it would perform, and all I can say is stellar. It just seems to be much more of everything the CMC was. Concise, superb clarity, nice detail and crisp. Also popped in some multi-channel SACDS. Headhunters by Herbie Hancock was exquisite.

This is just the first week, can't wait until everything is fully broken in.

    Some pics....

A camera, passport, good music, good food and good company is all I need.

    btf1980,

Excellent. A center channel is so important, I'm glad the CMC2 is performing so well. And it looks excellent as well.

            Hi btf1980,

            Very nice center. :T

will be great with the CM7.
now you need a pair of CM9 to replacec the CM7 (going to the rear! :B )

            good choice.

Trust me, i've thought about it. I've auditioned the CM9 and they are fantastic. If I wanted a stereo only setup, then I would choose them over the CM7.

I think I will stick with CM7 for now, but you never know in this hobby. Nothing is ever concrete.

                I believe, i believe.....

I have listen the the CM9 too. (in stereo)...but a set ALL CM new serire is a very good choice.

with the CM9-CM2C-CM7 you have a great speakers setup. B&W is not all seire 8.

i have the 803D-Htm2D-805S but the new CM interesting me very well.
(and like wrote in the HT never ending...)

Can the CMC2 work with the CM5's?
                  by Kristopher
                  Hi, new here.

I'm thinking of getting the CM5's and instead of getting the CMC i want to get the CMC2 since it's a much better center. Will it blend well with the CM5's?

I could just get the CM9's but i don't want to spend that much on speakers yet. And i don't think...

                  Got my CMC2 today
                  by aweil
My CMC2 in rosenut came in today, installed on a stand I made 17.25" tall, calibrated the distance in my receiver, crossed it over at 60Hz, and turned the tunes on. I listened to Christina Aguilera on Palladia as well as a couple of movies that were on FIOS, and it seems to blend VERY well with...

                  Bought my first DVD-A albums!
                  by Chris D
Well, I've reached a new level of craziness. I just bought my first three DVD-A albums, but still don't own a DVD-A or SACD player. (sigh) By signing up for Silverline Records' newsletter, they sent me a free DVD-A sampler, and a Best Buy coupon. You could get $2 off Silverline DVD-A albums, up to a...

I Need a New Center(LCR6, CDM CNT, or CMC)
                  by rping
                  Hi guys,
I've had my B&W system for about 4 years now, but I've been home off and on for that long of a time. Now that I will be stationary for a while, I would like to start upgrading my system.

I have a CC6 s2 center, and it just doesn't cut it. I use my system...

                  Old CMC Center or Alternative?
                  by garyttu
                  Hey all,

I just purchased new pair of CM6's and have happily joined other B&W owners.

I realize that this particular model is discontinued and they are black ash in color.
Unfortunately the new CMC does not come in black and I cannot find a dealer near me that...
