B&W 804s/803s Owners: Help Required!!

Hi,

Anyone who has a 804s or 803s can you test just the tweeter and midrange without the woofers. How does the speaker sound? Tinny? Does it match the 805s in quality? bass?

I dont think that anyone has done that! And there's no point doing it.
Remember: crossover frequencies are 350 Hz and 4 Khz for 803 and 804S while for 805s crossover frequency is 4 Khz. This means that the midrange driver for 803 and 804 stop working (or works out of specification) below 350 hz while on 805 works from 49 hz!
So what you are asking for will not help you at all

For a more complete sound, 805S would (or should) sound better.
Midrange frequencies would come better from 804/803s though (FST u c)

Sounds a bit like asking if a v8 with two cylinders not firing is as good as a v6.

If there is someone offering you a sawn off 803D, no questions asked :W I would walk away now. If the cops find it in your possession and it was used in a robbery you are gonna be in major strife.

Another problem you will find is that it is murder getting decent stands for a sawn off speakers.
