Upgraded from 804s to 803s, best move ever!

I recently bought a pair of 804s to go with my htm3 center. I have a relatively small room (12 x 20), and was worried the 803s would provide too much base - especially since these speakers had to go right up against the wall. What I quickly discovered was that with such a clear spectrum of midrange and highrange sounds, my ear needed a fuller and deeper bass. I tried biamping, but more power simply cannot substitute for the smaller woofer and cabinet. I cured my upgraditis by exchanging my 804s for 803s. They sound simply unbelievable. Specifically, the lower end of the midrange blends seemlessly with the upper end of the lowrange, and the overall depth of the low end is incredible. I have no idea why I was worried about too much bass, and initially chose the 804s. The 804s is a great speaker, but it honestly sounds flat with a fragmentation between the middle and low ranges compared to the 803s. Anyone who is trying to decide between the two should definately hold out for the 803s.
I didn't even bother to listen to the 803d or 802d since I don't have the components to hear the difference.
Hope this helps someone out there.
Does anyone else have a good upgrade experience?

I added an ASW800 to compliment my N804. They meld together nicely. This combo would have been roughly the same price as a pair of 803s. Since I upgraded my amp from RB-1070 to RB-1092 the music is even sweeter.

When I listened to the sub and 804s, it did not sound as good to my ear as the 803s alone. The low-lows were better, but the overall "smoothness" was missing to me. Thanks for your input. Amp upgrade is key!

        Help need for a B&W set-up (803S, 804s, sub?, amp?)
        by sn7
I am planning on gradually building a good B&W based system. I have a big room (25' x 15' x 12'). I will be using it for 50% movies and 50% music. I do not ramp up my volume too high. I would like to have a good cinema surround feel and still enjoy the clarity in my music.

        I am planning...

Ok big dilemma for me brand new 804S or used 803S?
        by jjahshik32
Sorry about all these attack of the threads.. but as you guys noticed that I make alot of threads when the decision time comes..

I guess warranty is what I'm looking at and seems to me that the 804S is exactly the same in specs as the 803S just that the 803S has a bigger cabinet, .5"...

        Htm3s + ((804s + Asw825) Or 803s)?
        by csuzor
I am trying to decide which is the better option
        1. HTM3S + 804S + ASW825
        2. HTM3S + 803S

The price is similar (a little more for option 1), and I know option 2 could be upgraded in the future with the ASW825, but I have to limit myself a little.

        I feel the...

Would the HTM4 center pice match the R/L 804S??
        by jjahshik32
I've been reading around on these forums and found one thread where someone upgraded from 804S to 803S and he owned the HTM3 which matched much better with the 803S.

I guess if the HTM3 matches the 803S would the HTM4 match the 804S better?

        Upgraded from 683 to 804s
        by stuofsci02
I just wanted to share my excitement as to my recent upgrade to 804s (rosenut) from my 683's.

I wasn't planning on doing this upgrade at this time, but with the change in the 800 series I didn't feel I would be willing to shell out for the price increase later. My dealer had one pair...
