    B&W 603 foam plugs

The speakers come with a pair of foam plugs, one smaller than the other. Are they both meant to be used for the port in the rear of the speaker or one is also for the port in the front? Does it matter if the smaller or larger one goes in the front or rear?

The smaller pair is for the rear and the larger pair for the front.

Anyway you probably will not want to use them (unless you also get a sub).

Or unless the rear of the speaker is too close to the wall behind... they are supposed to modify low frequency output to allow smoother "in room" response... if you feel they are required to tone down boomy, over thick bass. CPALIU, a good place to start placing those 603's would be (use tape measure if needed) about 800mm - 1m, measured from the baffle (front of speaker) to the rear wall, and more if your space allows, with a slight toe in towards the listening position. The 603's are best suited to a "free space" position, so try to keep them free of corners as well if possible as this will min. wall reflections which will negatively impact the quality of sound you hear.

Currently I have a set of 603 S3's in the front along w/ the larger 600 center. I'm thinking about purchasing a set of rear speakers. Should I leave the 603's in the front and getting something like the 600 or 601 for the rears or would I be better off movin the 603's to the rear and get a set of...

          Foam Plugs
          by Stoney
I have read about foam plugs that B&W includes with some speakers to plug into the ports to reduce bass output. I have a pair of DM 605 S2 and I was wondering if I could use plugs to reduce some boomyness in my room. What are the plugs made of? Is the foam similar to the foam used in the swimming...

What ear plugs do you use?
          by Spanky Ham
I think a lot of you use ear plugs, so I was curious which ones people are using. I have a lot of experience using the E-A-R Classic foam plugs, as these were standard issue when I was a Marine Corps Armorer. I prefer the foam over the other kinds. I notice E-A-R has a taper fit. I was thinking of giving...

          602 s3 vs 603 s2
          by big G
I have new 602 s3's and have the option to trade for 603 s2's even. The 603 s2's have been used as rear speakers on a rotel 5.1/b&w system for 3 years. The 603's are my brothers and he feels he doesn't really utilize them because that are surrounds only. He is simply offering as a favor.
