I'm ready to upgrade, so I'm trying to learn about all the alternatives. I've been focusing on the 804S, but would anybody have any info on how they'd sound when compared to a Nautilus 803?

OK, let me try again. I've listened to the new 804S, and they sound great - definitely an upgrade over my Matrix 805 / sub conbination. There are several pairs of used Nautilus 803's out there for sale, but I've never listened to them. The prices are comparable.
I could use some experienced advice... will they sound pretty much the same, or is there a difference?

If you have a chance to listen to both side by side do so and then make your call.
Remember, new products are not always better than old ones.
I would personally go for the 803's, but others would say differently.
E.g I listened to the 802D's vs my N802's and could not justify the extra cost. Yes the sound is different but Better?
You will have a much vetter bass response with your 803's than the 804's while the higher and mid requencies will be on a par(IMHO).Comment

Ok I just went to my local hometheatre store and just demoed the 804S,803S,802D all on the same mcintosh 272 amps.. and all I can say is... damn!~
The only one that didnt impress me was the 804S. To me the mids werent even near as good as the 803S,802D. It just sounded to me like a... -
I am trying to decide which is the better option
1. HTM3S + 804S + ASW825
2. HTM3S + 803S
The price is similar (a little more for option 1), and I know option 2 could be upgraded in the future with the ASW825, but I have to limit myself a little.

I have 804S with MF A5 CR Power/pre/CD for about 9 months. Lovely and excellent sound. But I miss a weightier bass. Has anybody biamped 804S and would be kind to report back improvements heard? In that case, I would consider purchasing another MF A5 Power (about 1800€). Another... -
All these speakers same to be between $2,099 and $2,400 used. can someone give me a rundown? espeically with comparing the new 804s and older 803.
why are 705 more expensive used than 804
