To Khan or not to Khan
Hi everyone, it's been a while, maybe you can help me out. Bear with me, my terminology isn't great. I'm not sure if I should move forward with my planned Khanspire build from ~2013 or pivot to something else. Back in 2013, I bought all the speakers and crossover components to build a left, right, and...- Bottom

Heading for Texas
I've started a build for a customer that is not a member of the forum, but I figured I'd share some pictures for the entertainment value.
It's going to be a 2 way design that's a little over .5 cu ft. He's requested a translam cabinet based on a build I did a number of years ago.

Transition to wall-mount speakers, new build or repurpose existing
I'm hoping to transition to wall-mounted speakers in our small home theater room. We have a projection setup and the floor space and protrusion into the space from the speaker is something I want to limit for aesthetics and room function.
Currently my build is based on the Creativesound...- Bottom

Any interest in new Class AB power amp design/build with MOSFET outputs?
Teaser alert!
I have extended the VHex+ power amp design of Valery Zaichenko into the VHex_step-up design, 50-70W into 8 ohms.
Step-up features lower distortion, current limiting, output muting, etc., while still having a relatively low parts count.
Have prototype PCB boards...- Bottom

New Build Thread - Ardent D by SMJ
Well, now that Steve's pile of oddly-shaped wood is looking much closer to a few really nice subwoofer enclosures (congrats Sven), it's likely time to begin to turn his attention to some Ardent D cabinets
.
Plan for this build is based on what Jon is listening to in the living room right...Last edited by theSven; 29 May 2025, 02:33 Thursday. Reason: Added link to thread for the Ardent D - Kurosawa Jr thread👍 1- Bottom

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
By Jon Hancock
This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified... -

Build Thread - SMJ Equilateral Subwoofer
The journey continues for the theater with a new project to replace the subwoofers that were in use now that the new SMJ CC has been successfully launched. The sono tube subwoofer setup was my very first DIY project that I had done, and it had a grand 10 year run. Wanting a better center channel for...

Speakers for a child!
Good morning! I'm starting to plan out a set of speakers for my goddaughter (and her older sister) as they get older. Average age of the two of them is like....4 years old right now. Probably won't start on these for a bit yet, but I want to start collecting parts and watching for sales and stuff. Stuff...

Guitar cabinet build inspired by two rock
Next up is a custom guitar cabinet for my brother in law. I showed him the bamboo plywood and we agreed it would make a handsome cab. The design is inspired by the two rock 2x12 cab but will be setup to stand vertical or horizontal. Threaded inserts will be used throughout and a retro speaker cloth...3 Photos- Bottom
