cheap upgrade *fix*

Ok, we all know that feeling when you need a fix BAD, right? You just need to change something with your setup -- anything!

Well, Being the cheap bastard that I am , I just bought two Aura Bass Shakers for $8.95 a piece to try and satisfy this urge

Now I just need something to power them with. The specs state they are 20w RMS and 30w Max.

So what kind of advice can you guys give me for a cheap amp that pushes 30w x2 at 4-Ohms ?

Thanks,

Thomas

Oh, BTW: here's the link to the shakers:

I also just picked up a set locally for about the same price and mounted them to the Futon this weekend. I'm currently using a single side of my Hafler power amp to push them which is serious overkill but for now its all I have. I'm going to keep an eye open in the pawn shops etc for an old stereo amp or receiver etc to use on them. I'd like it to have a remote so I could control the shake and turn them on or off depending on the mood or material etc.

Wish me luck

Well, no Adcom 535 for me --- Lex must have beat me to it! d**n you lex!

I'll keep checking back at the pawn shops and hopefully I can find something decent before the transducers arrive, otherwise HT Store here I come --- and we all know how dangerous that can be.

Thomas.

The Aura Bass Shakers -- Are they worth it?

Installation:

I flipped over my couch and removed the undercloth by pulling the staples out all the way around. Then I cut two boards that measure aprox 6" x 6" x 1.5" and screwed them to the frame...

Hi
I'm wondering about installing bass shackers in my theater.

Does anyone have experience with bass shakers that you would care to share?
Number of seats, number of shakers, brand, how you drive them and your experience with them.
Would you recommend it as a solution,...

Too cheap to replace old CDs
by storello
As an "early adopter" type, I started collecting CDs in 1984. Most of these sound like crap so I've been trying to figure out how to fix my collection without replacing everything. Here are options I'm considering:

1) Rip them and fix them up on a PC. This is a daunting...

Wiring for Shakers
by freon
I got some of the Aura shakers 4ohm 25watt.

There is six total that I have 1 for each seat.

I want to power them with an old H/K reciever in stereo mode its rated at 75watt@80hm or 100watt@4ohm FTC.

What would be my best option. I was thinking of wiring Three...
