Hi all,

I have PS3 Media Server running on my notebook and I have some WAV file/format with DTS encoding that I would like to play by streaming to my player. At this moment it is not working. Is there anyone who had same or similar problem that can give me a advise.

Your post is confusing to me, because DTS encoding, like Dolby AC3, refers to a specific kind of multi-channel encoding used for audio files (either standalone or part of a video program), based on a 96 kHz carrier frequency. It's possible a player could generate some type of WAV file output as an intermediate step for playback, but to my knowledge this may not be a standard PCM WAV file playable on any system compatible with .WAV.

I sugest consulting this guide about DTS encoded playback with an add on to support DTS encoding on standard Windows players. I'm a Mac guy myself, so the tools and players I use wouldn't be of any help to you.

DTS CD's were encoded as standard CD's that could be ripped to a WAV file and played back on equipment. Standard 44.1kHz encoding. If the playback device plays the WAV file exactly as it was on the disc, it should decode. My guess is the streaming server is some how compressing the "music" or altering the stream slightly, or the BDP-S5100 is up-converting everything to 48kHz (a problem with a lot of players).
