    Blu-ray LFE output

Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. Great forum!
I have a question regarding Blu-ray HD codecs' LFE output level. I have a Sony BDP-S550 hooked up via analog outputs to a Marantz SR7001. The Marantz does not decode HD audio. Standard DTS and DD decoded through the Marantz bitstreamed from the Sony or my AppleTV sound great in the LFE/sub domain. However, when I select an HD track on Blu-ray discs and use the analog outputs/inputs, the LFE/sub output is reduced considerably. I've tried testing the setup by boosting both the sub level in the Sony and the Marantz separately, but the audio just doesn't sound right to me. I've heard of a possible similar problem with SACD back when it first came out, and the hardware patch that worked for some was the Outlaw ICBM. But wouldn't you know it the ICBM has been discontinued, and I don't know if I want to spend the money to upgrade the Marantz.
I've searched here as well as AVS for info, but either I missed it or there isn't any that really applies to my setup.
Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone had to deal with this, and if so, what did you do? I'd hate to not utilize the HD tracks, because the other channels sound very clean.

    Thanks

    Jeremy

best way to connect ICBM to 1066 w/ new firmware?
    by Chris3G
As per Dre J's bass management reports and solutions, the best way to connect the 1066 and an ICBM (not including 5.1 inputs) is to set the sub to "off" in the 1066 menu setup, sending LFE bass to the front channels, and then letting the ICBM sort it out. The downside to this setup is the...

    Marantz 8801 - setting expectations?
    by JonMarsh
When I got the email with Trond-Erik's new Pro-Pro, something about that rang a bell. The bell was related to an AV Forums post by a guy with high sensitivity speakers comparing the Benchmark AHB2 amplifier and the M22 and some other amplifiers. One of his bugaboos was output noise, and noise that could...

Testing B&W with McIntosh & Marantz

I'm curious about a test I want to do. So I would like to get people's opinion about this test.

I have $4-5k budget that I have to improve my B&W Nautilus 805/HTM2 setup. I currently have a Marantz SR7002 AV receiver powering them.

I've been wanting to audition McIntosh...

    Bluray Audio Format Confusion
    by Johnloudb
Okay, all these different audio formats have always confused me. On the back of this Jeff Beck Bluray disc "Live at Ronnie Scotts" it lists the audio format as LPCM stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS HD Master Audio.

LPCM (Lossless Pulse Code Modulation) Stereo, is...

Anyone have an ICBM? Need some help
    by baniels
I have an original Outlaw ICBM. Somewhere in the years of not using it, I misplaced the power supply. I am trying to find a replacement. I have put in word to Outlaw, but I was hoping someone here with one might be able to snap a picture of it.

The specs on the product page aren't clear...
