    It's Done

My Home Theater System Is Done

Just bought my last piece, a new subwoofer, Paradigm UltraCube 10

Some was new, some was used (barely), some was demo. Brings a smile every time I listen. About 2 years to get it all, I think about $10,000. I did make a conscientious decision not to go HD and HDMI. I have no interest in the auto switching and love to buy bargin ($4.99 - $9.99) discs and find the picture quality very acceptable.

    TV - Panasonic 42' Plasma TH-42PX50U
    Fronts - B&W CM7
    Center - B&W CMCentre
    Rears - B&W CM1
    Sub - Paradigm UltraCube 10
    PreAmp - Anthem AVM 20 (ver2)
    Amp - Anthem PVA7
    DVD - Arcam DV78

    I love it :T

      Congrats. Enjoy. Post some pics.
Have you managed to get a vaccine against the upgrade bug?

Congrats. That set up will give you audio enjoyment for a very long time (but do get the inoculation, just in case ).

          No Worries

No worries about the upgrade bug yet, this was an over time upgrade to all parts previous. However there are 2 other things to consider. :B

On the audio side of the Home Theater system there is still a CD player to be replaced \ upgraded.

And then there is the system in the bedroom to work on. I've recently put a 32" Sharp LCD there attached to a nice little Onkyo reciever.

The A switch side of the Onkyo there is my old rears (for fronts) and the old sub attached, so there is room for growth \ upgrading there.

The B switch side of the Onkyo has a fine fairly new pair of Polk outdoor speakers that are up under the eaves outside above the Jacuzzi :B

I applaud you on knowing what you wanted and going for it. Great job!

RB-1050 and Anthem Compatability Issues...Please Help
              by Evan Scussel
Recently I sold my Anthem MCA-5 power amp to upgrade two channel performance. The amp I ordered for main L/R is on order and I decided to buy a used Rotel RB-1050 to power surround speakers down the road, but until my main amp arrives, the RB-1050 is my main amp. I bought it used.

              Immediately...

I'm currently using a Marantz 5400 AVR to drive Paradigm Studio 100 fronts and CC-570 center. I've had the Marantz since I started this expensive hobby with a pair of Mini-Monitors. Now that I'm up to the big boys, I feel like I need some more power.

My dealer has recommended both Rotel...

              Anthem AVM-20 version 2.0
              by SiliGoose
After a very long wait (though shorter than the wait B&K owners have been subjected to) the Anthem AVM-20 hardware & software upgrade is now available.

The upgrade adds the following to the pre/pro:

              RDC-7 vs Anthem AVM-20
              by mheyda
I'm in the middle of deciding between the Anthem AVM-20 and Integra Research RDC-7. I'm not considering the current lack of DPLII and DTS-ES on the Anthem a problem since Anthem has promised the upgrade for the April timeframe.
I personally couldn't hear a difference between the two in auditions,...

I see a LOT of people on this forum discussing amplifiers, And I must ask.........does anyone know what Signal to Noise ratio is? Cuz it doesn't seem like anyone does. And before I go on, this is NOT a matter of opinion....it is proven fact. S/N ratio is the strength of the...
