    Menu issue with Sony receiver

    I just bought a Sony Receiver 1200ES and I am having trouble getting the menu on the TV screen.
    I have it hooked up via the HDMI ports and everything is working except the Menu page of the Sony.
    Are you able to get the menu up through the HDMI connections, or can you only access it through the Composite or Component connections?
    Anybody have this model and have similar issues?

      Well the manual never specifically says it won't send the OSD over HDMI. But judging that it can't convert any other type of video to HDMI or pull audio from HDMI, leads me to believe it's an HDMI switch only and you won't be able to get the menu through it.

          I would not be surprised in the slightest if there are models out there that add OSD to HDMI, but I personally do not know of any. All the receivers/processors out there that I know of add it to composite (and sometimes not even component) but not HDMI. Now, since some receivers will transcode inputs to HDMI, perhaps you could get HDMI that way. Does your Sony receiver transcode to HDMI?
