That's the initial plan yes, but the sub design is a ways off.

Why ED? Why not the Exodus Maelstorm or IXL 18.4's? I don't know I guess the ED subs just seem more like car drivers to me. They just don't impress me much They are cheap though I'll give them that.

I actually have a couple of their cheaper 10"s and one of their amps in my truck and was pretty impressed with the quality. Plus after seeing the quad 18's project I linked I figured I'd give them a shot. I tend to be a repeat customer once I find a company I do some good business with. Though it's not set in stone. I won't be doing the sub build for quite a while so plenty of time to research others as well.

I guess to turn your question around, why those particular drivers over the eD?

Well the Maelstorm because its got 33mm of Xmax. I guess the ED isn't bad though I'm just wondering about mechanical noise and what not as they are mostly intended for car use. I know the Maelstorm and Tempest-X has very very low motor noise and quite low distortion. Kevin has video's posted on his site so you can hear them.

Yeah the only issue is the Maelstorm is quite a bit more I was going to do 2 18's but then decided to go with 4 15" Tempests due to how I want to setup my room.
